Adding Variety With A Western Wedding
@ Destination Wedding
A western wedding is a great idea for something different as a themed wedding. Everything from the ground up can be 'western' themed, from the invitation designs to jewelry and the bridal gown...
I recently attended a western wedding and I was amazed at the beautiful spectacle. The bride and groom did a magnificent job choosing stylish western designs and décor for the special occasion. I thought that the entire thing was going to be a complete mess and that it was going to be far too casual for a true bridal affair but I was terribly wrong.
The first indication that the couple was having a western wedding was apparent in the invitations. The couple chose an invitation design that used a cowboy hat and a bouquet of flowers as the central focus. The lovely icons were set on top of a bale of hay that was delicately placed to the left of the attractive notes.
The couple opted to write their own personal note for the guests to read and they stuck to the western wedding theme by indicating that they were “getting hitched” and providing the details about the event. This charming presentation was generally informal but the beautiful design and elegant quality of the invitations balanced the casual attitude of the note.

The maid of honor also embraced the theme by using wonderful little fun box pendant and earring sets presented in a cowboy hat. Each box was designed as a hat that opens easily to reveal either a pendant necklace or earrings for the guests at the bridal shower. The gifts were reasonably priced according to the maid of honor who was quite proud of her show-stopping choice of bridal shower favors. These keepsakes will be enjoyed for years to come and they are a great reminder of the western wedding.
Wine was presented to the bride and groom in an unusual way. There was a cowboy wine holder on the bridal table. The base of the wine holder was a horseshoe and attached to the base was a cowboy made out of horseshoes as well. His metal arms were outstretched to hold four wine glasses (that were adorned with running horses) and his bowed legs held the wine. This wonderful piece fit right into the western wedding theme. Perhaps the most breathtaking element in the western wedding was the bride’s magnificent gown. This dress had a small train and was covered in delicate lace and pearls. It was in no way a ballroom gown but it emanated beauty. The bride peered from beneath a tastefully decorated cowgirl hat adorned with a light veil. She was the crowning touch to the western wedding.
